OZARK…Mr. Kenneth D. “Kenny” Teal, Jr., a resident of Ozark, died late Tuesday morning, May 14, 2024, in a Dothan hospital. He was 74.


            Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, May 17, 2024, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Michael Woodham officiating. Burial will follow in Sykes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, near Clio. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.


            Mr. Teal was born September 17, 1949, in Long Beach, California and formerly lived in Chesapeake, Virgnia before moving to Ozark in 1979. He was a 1967 Graduate of Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Virgnia and taught electrical courses at Fortis College. Mr. Teal was currently employed by Sodexo as an electrician at Troy University in Troy. He was a member of Chalkhead Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir and singing solos in church. Mr. Teal was an avid University of Alabama Football fan and enjoyed playing golf. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maxine Carter Teal, two children, Nicholas Teal and Hollie Robertson, and a brother Johnnie Frank Teal.


            Surviving relatives include his wife of thirty-four years, Judy E. Shiver Teal; children, Chris Bond, Kennie Dail Bond, Kendall Hughes, all of Virginia, James B. Mizell, Opp, Cheri Shaw, Headland, and Blake Moates (Rachel), Brantley; father, Kenneth Derrill Teal, Sr., Ozark; sister, Debra Evans (Bill), Ozark; brother Ronnie W. Teal (Pennie), Suffolk, Virginia; twelve grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
