   Mr. Kenneth Earl Thompson, a resident of Ariton, died Friday evening, April 14, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 83 years old.


   Funeral services for Mr. Thompson will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 17, 2023, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Pastor Jeff Downing and Pastor Randy Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Ariton Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.


   The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Monday from 10:00 A.M. until service time.


   Mr. Thompson was born May 24, 1939 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Henry Jefferson Thompson and Jessie Arnold Thompson. He worked with White Knight Manufacturing Company in Ozark for 30 years and then drove for Price Brothers Gas Company until his retirement. Mr. Thompson loved fishing and working in his garden. He was an avid Alabama fan.


   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Ann Thompson; nephews, Billy Thompson and Jimmy Thompson.


   Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sara Griggs Thompson of Ariton; his special buddy, BJ; one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Ron Ory of Ariton; two grandchildren, Casey Ketcham of Baker, Florida and Kimberly and Trenton Downing of Ariton; fathers of his grandchildren, Sandy Ketcham of Albany, Georgia and Tommy Lewis of Ozark; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Don Jeffrey of Dothan and Eufaula; two great grandchildren, Greyson Downing and Silas Downing. Several nephews and one niece also survive.


   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ariton Rescue, P. O. Box 183, Ariton, Alabama 36311.
