Mr. Kenneth Edward Burnette, a resident of Ozark, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024, in Dale Medical Center. He was 83 years old.
Funeral services for Mr. Burnette will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 20, 2024 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Eric Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Tuesday from 9:30 A.M. until service time.
Mr. Burnettte was born September 6, 1940 in Clanton, Alabama to the late Rush Edward Burnette and Anniece Huff Burnette. He graduated from Maplesville High School in 1958 and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Athens State College in 1979. Mr. Burnette started his career as a Welding Instructor in 1971 at Baldwin County High School. He taught at Alabama Aviation Technical College from 1976 until 1988, then Wallace Community College where he retired in 2000.
He was a member of Ozark Baptist Church where he served as Deacon Emeritus.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Reynolds Burnette; one son, Michael Burnette (Marko); one daughter, Michele Paramore (Darren); three grandchildren, Carson Johnson (Travis), Nason Paramore and Braeden Paramore; two great grandchildren, Sawyer Johnson and Collins Johnson all of Ozark; and one sister, Mary Shirley of Birmingham.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his memory to Ozark Baptist Church, 282 South Union Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
