Lamond Wells, a celebrated farmer and life-long resident of Cottonwood, Alabama passed away peacefully on April 17, 2021. He was 76.
Graveside Services will be held at 10AM, Tuesday, April 20, 2021 in Harpers Joy Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Reverend Jim Tate officiating and Southern Heritage Funeral home directing.
Lamond was born October 24, 1944. He and Judy married in January 1964 and settled in Cottonwood, Alabama. As a lifelong peanut, cotton, and produce farmer, he was honored as Houston County’s Farmer of the Year in 2014. Lamond was an avid and skilled sportsman who particularly enjoyed hunting Whitetail deer and Bob White Quail, as well as fishing for bream. Lamond professed faith in Jesus Christ as a child and attended Memphis Baptist Church for over thirty years. By God’s grace, he lived a blessed and fulfilled life. He was always quick to give God the glory for everything he had, especially his wife and family, whom he loved and cherished deeply. Lamond will always be remembered for his love and the kind, often unexpected things he enjoyed doing for others. His enjoyment of farming and outdoors was only surpassed by his love and dedication to Jesus and his family.
Lamond was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Ressie Lee Sellers Wells and a brother, James Earl Wells.
Survivors include his wife of fifty seven years, Judy Wells; his children, Andy Wells (Brenda), Stephanie Fowler (Tim), Holli Lovrich (Marty), and Chad Wells (Anna); his siblings, Pat Wells (Janice), Virginia Crooms (Clinton), and Clara Merle Nowell (Steve); his grandchildren, Jamie Boudreaux (Erin), Hillary Bray (Stephen), Hunter Wells (Jordan), Caroline Sullivan (Kyle), Austin Wells, Camden Lovrich, Preston Wells, Cate Lovrich, Carson Wells, Allie Grace Lovrich, Claire Wells, and Brady Wells; his great grandchildren, Faith Bray, Ezra Bray, Asher Sullivan, Luke Bray, and Jace Wells.
