Mr. Lanier Hughes Strickland, a lifelong resident of the Asbury Community, passed away Tuesday, March 29,2022, at 72 years old.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Friday, April 1, 2022, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Dr. Paola Reese Bass, Reverend Tara Chamblee and Reverend Phil Craddock officiating. Interment will follow in Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Friday from 2:00 P.M. until service time.
Lanier was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed being outside and tinkering around, and was an excellent cook. Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by his parents, John D. (JD) and Bessie Hughes Strickland, brother, Jerry Strickland, and son, James Bradley (Brad) Strickland.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Paula Freeman Strickland and his daughter, Erin Micah Twine (Trey). Mr. Strickland is also survived by two “adopted” sons, Fred Grubbs (Brittany) and Jason Weeks (Elisha); five grandchildren, Landon Grubbs, Kylee Grubbs, Jaxon Grubbs, Maddie Weeks, and Brantley Weeks, as well as many other close friends and relatives.
