Larry Dean Mayfield, a resident of Dothan, Alabama died Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Southeast Health Medical Center. He was 82.

Larry was born December 22, 1941 in East St. Louis, Illinois to the late Leon and Laverne Sievers Mayfield. He was a Master Carpenter by trade who enjoyed the outdoors, camping, boating, fishing and piddling in his garage. Larry and Tricia enjoyed taking spontaneous trips and just going wherever the road took them. They were Camp Host at Eldon Hazlet State Park for three years. He was a member of Gothic Lodge 0852 for 34 years and Scottish Rites Bodies Valley of Southern Illinois.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, beloved stepdaughter, Rachel Knight; brother and sister-in-law, Leon “Butch” and Gail Mayfield, brother, Gary Mayfield and his best friend, Ron Loehr.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Mayfield; children, Dean Neuner (Julie), Kathy Mayfield, Jeanett “Jeanny” Mayfield, William “Jay” Mayfield (Jennifer); grandchildren, Nathan, Brendan, Clayton, Dylan and Colin; great granddaughter, Nora and special friend, Barbara Turner.
