Obituary: Mr. Larry “Squirrel” Skipper
Mr. Larry “Squirrel” Skipper of Slocomb passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Flowers Hospital. He was 71.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Christian Home Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 6 until 8 p.m.
Mr. Skipper was born November 29, 1941 in Geneva County to the late Curtis Mansell and Cerella “Trip” Holland Skipper. He was of the Baptist faith. “Squirrel”, as he was known by all his CB friends, loved to work on cars and enjoyed Westerns.
In addition to his parents, one brother, Jake Skipper; one sister, Ouida Fillingim; one daughter, Teresa Dunlap all preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters: Lisa Autrey, Woodville, FL and Angela Hotchkiss (Terry), Lakeland, FL; two sons: Bobby Skipper and Timmy Skipper (Laura) both of Woodville, FL; two sisters: Faye Lamb (Earl), Indiana and Glenda Sue Giddings (Steve), NY; one brother, Jimmy Skipper, (Lorraine), Slocomb; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one aunt, Ruth Loden, Slocomb; several nieces; nephews and other extended family and friends.
