Mr. LaRue “Duke” Williams of Geneva passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2012.  He was 71.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012 at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of your choice.

 Mr. Williams was born in Geneva, AL on November 30, 1940 to the late Fred Williams and Bera Moody Williams.  He enjoyed the outdoors and really loved to fish.  He was preceded in death by his nephew, Chris Hughes.

He is survived by his son, Alan Williams of Signal Mountain, TN; daughter, Amy Brackin, and husband, Ricky of Geneva; three grandchildren, Matthew Alan Williams (Alexis) of Colorado City, CO, Carson Brackin and Emma Brackin, both of Geneva; three great grandchildren, Bryant Williams, Bradyen Williams and Christian Williams; three sisters, Helen Hughes (Roger) Geneva, Nancy Hebert, both of Geneva and Freddie Phillips (Junior) of Andalusia; four brothers, Pat Williams (Sue) of Geneva, Terry Williams (Susan) of Nashville, Johnny Williams and James Edward Williams, both of Westville, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
