Mr. Lee Jennings Blalock of Hwy 177-A, Bonifay, Florida passed away Monday, January 14, 2013. He was 77.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 17, 2013 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Jay Ward and Rev. Jerry McAdams officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Home Freewill Baptist Church with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, January 16, from 6 until 8 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Home Freewill Baptist Church, Black, Alabama 36314.
Mr. Blalock, affectionately known as Lee, was born May 8, 1935 in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Lex Steagall and Era Mae Shiver Blalock. After several years of service he retired from Jackson Correctional Institute as a lieutenant. Lee loved the outdoors. He enjoyed working on his farm, fishing and quail hunting. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and he attended Pleasant Home Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Harvey Blalock, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ann Smith Blalock; three sons: Kenny Blalock (Kathy), Roger Blalock (Lucia), and Jeff Blalock; three grandchildren: Kelly Williams, Amanda Sewell (Zach), Kendall Harker (Austin); four great-grandchildren: Cheyenne and Paden Miller, Rhett and McKinley Sewell, all of Bonifay, FL; other extended family and a host of friends.
