Leo Paul Green, a resident of Ashford, Alabama, passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 20, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was 65.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2PM, Tuesday, August 23,2022 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Debbie Kissinger officiating. Burial will be immediately following the service in Crestlawn Cemetery with Southern Heritage directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 1PM to 2PM Tuesday.
Leo was a dedicated husband, father, friend, and business owner. Looking back, it’s clear there could have been a better group of wild kids than his, but they were what he had so he put up with them. Leo passed on his terms two days after telling his loving daughter Stephine “ they said I was supposed to die last night”. He drifted off peacefully where he should be getting some much-needed peace and quiet. Leo gifted his loving wife with his presence and gifted his wild children with two very important things. First, he dragged them to church and made sure they knew Jesus, he knew what it would take to get them to Heaven. Second, he taught them the importance of hard work, hoping that would keep them from asking for money, unfortunately it didn’t work.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Leo Green and a sister, Lisa Mack.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving and devoted wife, Audrey Green; his mother, Viola Shafer Green; eight children, Stephine Bumpus (Brent), Shaun Williford (Donna), Jessica Pitts (Bobby), Sharon Green, Rose Root, Jordan Green, Sylvia Crawford, and Josh Ingle; fifteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
