Mr. Leonard Charles Smith “Bo”, age 67, a resident of Dothan died early Monday, March 28, 2016 at his son’s residence in Slocomb.


Memorial services will be held  2 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016                                                              at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jayson Kirk and Mr. Shay Wells officiating.  Burial will be at the Madrid Cemetery with Kendall Glover directing.


The family will be receiving friends at Glover Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to services.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Durden Foundation 2605 Thomas Dr. Suite 150, Panama City Beach, Fl. 32408.


Mr. Smith was born on September 17, 1948 in Cottonwood the son of William Amon Smith (Buddy) and Thelma Raye Howard Smith.  He was a 1966 Graduate of Cottonwood High School and worked 30 years as an Engineer for Rail Switching Services.  He was of Baptist faith and a lifelong resident of Houston County. 


He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Howard Earl Smith and Hughie Wilburn Smith; sister, Beatrice Floyd.


Survivors include: son, William Earl Smith “Little Bo” and Amanda (Special Caregiver), Slocomb; sister, Ninah Jo Chumney, Madrid; 4 grandchildren, Haylee, Dakota, Emily, and Haven; special friend, Janie Courtney, Cottonwood; several nieces and nephews.


Honorary pallbearers will be: Bobby Ross, Bob Mimms, Phil Larson, David Price, Mike Durden, Ernie Wood, Don Deborde, and Coworkers of Rail Switching Services.


Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
