He was an active member of First Christian Church for 40 years and then moved to Covenant United Methodist Church where he volunteered in many activities and especially for Meals on Wheels.
Fishing and hunting were his favorite hobbies, but he also enjoyed flower gardening and bird watching. Later, reading and attending anything in which his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were involved kept him busy. He was always a loyal Auburn fan.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Inez Harris Trotter; daughter, Tracy Solomon (Arch); grandchildren, Ashlie Wells (Eben); Archie Solomon (Haley); and great-grandchildren, Eben Wells, Elle Wells, Mills Solomon, and Mason Solomon.
Due to Covid 19, a private family service with Reverend Kyle Gatlin officiating will be held at Memory Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to thank his caregivers, Judy Youngblood, Annie Redding, and Fakeisha Carroll for their loyal service and also the staff at Extendicare Health Center.
Memorials may be made to Covenant United Methodist Church in Dothan.
