Mr. Lester Wendell Dykes, age 71, of Dothan passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015.


 


Born July 12, 1944 in Hartford, Alabama to the late Virgil and Tee Waters Dykes, Mr. Dykes attended Beulah Baptist Church. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1962 until 1967. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, gardening, and Auburn football. He retired from PEMCO 5 years ago.


 


He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Dykes and Tee Waters Dykes.


 


Survivors include his wife, Louann Scearce Dykes; his daughter, Pamela (Larry) Dykes Marchman; his sons, Kevin Dykes and Danny (Maggie) Dykes; his sisters, Sue (Hugh) Bedsole, Virginia (Henry) Ward, and Teresa Watford; his grandchildren, Benjamin, Tyler and Kaleb Marchman and Collin, Gage, Lanie, and Angel Dykes; his great-granddaughter, Finnley Grace; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


 


Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, October 24, 2015 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kyle Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 11 AM, Saturday, October 24, 2015 one hour prior to the service.


 


The family will be receiving flowers.
