Obituary: Mr. Lewis Randolph Lassiter


 


Mr. Lewis Randolph Lassiter of Fadette passed away, Monday, January 8, 2018 at SAMC.  He was 76. 


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2018 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory in Slocomb.  Interment will follow in the New Hinson Baptist Church Cemetery.  


The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time. 


Mr. Lassiter was born June 14, 1941 in Geneva County to the late W.C. and Elvie May Kirkland Lassiter. Lewis loved his family deeply and was always a great provider. He was a very successful business man, but he felt happiest working on the family farm and loved to fish. He was a loving husband and adoring father and the best "Pawpaw"! 


In addition to his parents, two sisters: Sheila Mitchell and Sybil Holton; and one brother, Larry Lassiter  all preceded him in death. 


Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Wanda Gail Worthy Lassiter, Fadette; a daughter, Kim Lassiter Humphreys (Fred), Pensacola, FL; two sons: Randy Lassiter (Betty), Fadette and Joey Lassiter (Lauri), Ashford; five grandchildren: Jennifer Winegardner (Pete), Pensacola, FL, Phillip Lassiter, Dothan, Leandra Lassiter, Palm Bay, FL, Abby Humphreys, Pensacola, FL and Maddie Humphreys, Pensacola, FL; four great-grandchildren; four sisters: Estelle Sawyer, Slocomb, Lou Nell Baxley (Howell), Fadette, Melba Grace Smith (James), Slocomb and Debann Fowler (Ray), Graceville, FL; three brothers: Rex & Drex Lassiter, Slocomb and Ricky Lassiter Dothan; his canine companion, Boo Boo; his treasured 57 Chevy; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. 


 


The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of SAMC; with a special thanks to Lisa, Russell, Bobbie, Cathy and Dr. Kristy Johnson for going out of their way to make their loved one comfortable during his last days.
