Louie Hickman Moring, age 82, of Dothan passed away Monday, March 28, 2016.


 


Born March 20, 1934 in Henry County to the late Charlie B. and Fannie Belle White Moring, Mr. Moring was a member of Oakey Grove Baptist Church in Henry County and attended Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He served his country in the United States Army. He was known for his prize garden and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed football and baseball seasons, cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Atlanta Braves.


 


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant sons, Anthony Stephen Moring and Sammy Ray Moring; his brothers, Rufus Moring, Ted Moring, Bobby Moring, and Kenneth Moring; and his sisters, Pauline Bostick and Sue Woodham.


 


Survivors include his loving wife, Eleanor Johnson Moring; his daughter, Tammy (Ronald) Murphy; his son, Keith (Jackie) Moring; his grandchildren, Jason (Mary Kate) Moring, Ashley (Ryan) McAnulty, Olivia Murphy and Emily Murphy; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


 


Funeral services will be held at 12 PM, Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tim Willis officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until 12 PM, prior to the service.


 


The family will be accepting flowers or contributions may be made to the Ridgecrest Building Fund at 1231 Fortner Street, Dothan, AL 36301
