Mr. Louie O'Neal Austin of Ashford, AL. passed away Saturday, September 9th, 2023 at the age of 67.



O'Neal was born February 15th,1956, in Tampa, Florida. O'Neal is the son of the late Louie Eugene Austin and the late Ada Mae Tillery and second Father John (Buddy) Tillery. O'Neal spent most of his life as a long haul trucker.  He enjoyed being on the open road and experiencing each state with his precious fur babies.  When off the road and at home he loved spending time with his wife and family.  O'Neal was a person that helped others when he could and wouldn't hesitate to step in where needed.



He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Margaret Austin; step-children, James Riley (Mary) of Headland, AL, Darlene Ham (Steve) of Grangerburg, AL, Debra Cherry of Rehobeth, AL, Dianne Brice (Keith) Lacombe, LA; sisters, Frances Jones and Connie Hendrickson of Cowarts, AL, Patsy Austin of Ashford, AL, Paulette Blue of Ashford, AL, Judy Ivey (Willie) of Thomasville, GA, Marie Tillery Forrest, Shirley Strickland and Melissa Brackin; brothers, Bryan Tillery (Melissa) of Cowarts, AL, Tommy Tillery (Delores) and Sammy Tillery; brother-in-law, Donnie Goff; 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.



O'Neal is preceded in death by his step-sons, Danny Faircloth and Lavon Forehand, grandson Willie Hill and great-granddaughter, Briana McLean; sisters, Dianne Katherine Austin, Ruby Jean Johnson and Rebekkah Goff; brothers-in-law, Robert Jones, Bob Hendrickson, J.J. Johnson, Claude Newman, David Forrest and Kenneth Brackin; nephews, Ronnie Eugene Jones, Christopher Elijah Woodruff; and nieces Paula Jean Hendrickson and Kelly Ann Johnson.



Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Chaplain Charles Goldsmith officiating.  Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.



The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, September 11, 2023.
