Mr. Malcolm C. Hendrix, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home in Ashford, Alabama on July 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from the chapel of Ward Wilson Funeral Home in Dothan with Reverends Robert Hamilton, Johnny Strickland, and Logan Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM, Monday, July 22, 2024 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
Born in Geneva County, Alabama, on June 28, 1945, to the late Mack and Bernice Hendrix. Mr. Hendrix married the love of his life, Robbie Forehand Hendrix, on July 3, 1966 and they enjoyed 58 years together. During this time, he served his country in the Alabama National Guard and worked security at Southeast Health. Upon his retirement in 1989, he enjoyed poultry farming and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of New Beginning Church in Ashford.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hendrix was preceded in death by his brother, Reverend Lonnie Earl Hendrix.
He is survived by his wife, Robbie Hendrix; his children, Stan Hendrix and Beverly Bowen (Keith); his grandchildren, Brooke Winfield (Zach), Caleb Bowen, and Jameson Hendrix; his great-grandchildren, Hallie, Landon, and Jaxson Winfield; his siblings, Myrl Moss (Charlie Mack), Jerry (Jo), Lamar (Gail), Roger Dale (Judy) and Bruce (Rhonda); a sister-in-law, Margaret Hendrix; and many other family and friends.
Serving as active pallbearers will be David Hendrix, Zach Winfield, Johnny Hendrix, Caleb Bowen, Donnie Hendrix, and Chris Forehand.
