Mr. Max Douglas Leatherwood, a resident of Ozark, died Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in Southeast Health Medical Center. He was 91 years old.
Funeral services for Mr. Leatherwood will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 28, 2021, from Stonebridge Church of God in Ozark with Reverend Floyd Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Sunday in the church from 1:00 P.M. until service time.
Mr. Leatherwood was born May 24, 1930 in Pike County, Alabama. One of ten children of the late Thomas Harrison Leatherwood and Sallie Irene Bludsworth Leatherwood. He was a member of Stonebridge Church of God in Ozark. Mr. Leatherwood served in the United States Army and retired from Madison Construction Company in Ozark.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Max Rene Leatherwood; his first wife and mother of his son, Rebekah Judah Leatherwood; three sisters, Verlon Leatherwood, Mattie Earl Bruner and Hazel Free; six brothers: Aubrey, Forrest, Kenneth, Donald Ray, Charles and Roy Leatherwood.
Survivors include his wife, Angela Judah Leatherwood; daughter-in-law, Jane Leatherwood; and one grandson, Matthew Douglas Leatherwood; son-in-law, Thomas F. Wynn (Deborah); grandchildren, Angela Kathleen Meetze, Hank Wynn and Rusty McIntosh. Ten great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
