Mr. Max Neil Wilks, lovingly known as “Bucky”, of Geneva passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021. He was 71.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2021 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Scott Crooms officiating. A eulogy will be delivered by Frankie Lindsey. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Coffee Springs, AL with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Bucky was born on July 11,1949 in Greenville, AL to the late James Curtis and Margaret (Peggy) O’Connor Wilks. He was a loving and devoted husband, daddy, and Papa. He worked in the oil fields for over 40 years, retiring as a rig superintendent and oil field consultant. He loved family gatherings, joking and laughing, spending time at the river with family and always enjoyed watching a good game of Auburn football.
In addition to his parents, a daughter, Jodi Wilks Commander and a brother, Frank Wilks preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Tamar Massey Wilks, his daughter, Jennifer Wilks Crowe(James); son, Brock Wilks; six grandchildren, Dustin Alred, Alexys Danley(Garrett), Bractin Commander, Aubrey Wilks, Kahlea Smith and Bryer Wilks all of Geneva; two great-grandchildren, Sophia Grace Danley and James Dawson Danley of Geneva; one sister, Patsy Simmons (Bobby) of Dothan, AL, four brothers, Michael Wilks (Janet) Enterprise, Alabama, Donald Ray Wilks (Debra) Geneva, Alabama, Terry Wilks Geneva, Alabama and Tommy Wilks (Mindy) Geneva, Alabama and several nieces and nephews.
