Obituary: Mr. Moody Godwin
Mr. Moody Godwin of Malvern went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at his home. He was 85.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Rev. Royce Morrow and Rev. Don Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Christian Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Mr. Godwin was born October 11, 1928 in Geneva County to the late Malcom D. and Beulah Clark Godwin. He was of the Assembly of God faith and attended Madrid Assembly of God Church. Moody was a devoted husband, loving and patient father and wonderful grandfather, who will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, daughter, Bebbie Davis; son-in-law, Eddie Goad; sister, Bernice Hendrix and brother, Cecil Godwin all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Maudie Godwin, Malvern; three daughters: Linda Goad, Malvern, Ann Hall (Wayne), Fadette and Jackie Quattlebaum (Roger), Malvern; son-in-law, Bobby Davis, Malvern; sister, Mary Wilkerson, Columbus, GA; three brothers: John Godwin (Dot), Phenix City, Jimmy Godwin, (Jean), Phenix City and Ray Godwin (Janice), Malvern; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Timothy, Kevin, Michael, Mark, Bobby Lee and Jason.
