Nathan Tindell, 90, of Dothan, Alabama died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Extendicare Health and Rehab Center, surrounded by his family.


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013 in Clearman Chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend Danny Bynum and Reverend Raymond Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Howard Grove Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing.


The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the services.


Born in Jackson County Florida, Nathan was a son of the late James Calvin and Estelle Harper Tindell. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served his country in World War II and was a member of Pleasant Ridge Freewill Baptist Church in Jackson County, FL.


Surviving are his wife, Ella Scott Tindell, Dothan, Alabama; three daughters, Sue Cochran, Ashford, Alabama, Dawnita (Anzel) Granger, Dothan, Alabama, Sylvia Jo (Alan) Nobles, Dothan, Alabama; a step son, John Scotty (Judy) Jackson, Hartselle, Alabama, a step daughter, Gloria (Gene) Taylor, Hamilton, Alabama; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Tindell, Quincy, Florida; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
