Nolan L. Chauvin Jr., 87, of Ariton, Alabama, passed away peacefully in his home on March 28 under the care of his 4 children.


Graveside memorial services will be held at 1 PM April 8, 2017 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Hwy 231, Ozark, Alabama.


He was born February 20, 1930 in New Orleans, LA. Mr. Chauvin was a career Army man of 27 years; enlisted in 1951, served during the Korean War and completed two tours in Vietnam.  While stationed in Japan he met his wife, Kiyoko, of 60 years. He was also recipient of the Bronze Star.  He was known for his generosity, good-natured personality and passion for cooking, gardening and woodworking.


Mr. Chauvin is survived by his four children: Enelle A. Howell of Ariton, AL, Nolan L. Chauvin, III of Buford, GA, Kay F. Lee of Berkeley Lake, GA and Donald J. Chauvin of Hoschton, GA, and 5 grandchildren, Matthew Howell, John Howell Jr., Austin Lee, Alan Lee, Nolan L. Chauvin IV and Kaylan Chauvin; and 2 great grandchildren, Kristina K. Howell and Abigail Howell.
