Mr. Patrick Michael (Pat) Rosser, of Newton, left his earthly home to enter his heavenly home Monday, March 5, 2018, at the age of 59.
Funeral services will be held at graveside 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 10, 2018, in Newton City Cemetery with Reverend Charles Goldsmith officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing.
Patrick Michael Rosser (AKA Peter Rosser) was born on November 3, 1958 to Gerda Ursula Guth in Heidelberg Germany. At the age of three he was adopted by Lawrence Edward (Jimmy) Rosser of Newton, Alabama and Eleonore Bang Rosser of Germany, at which time his name was changed to Patrick Michael Rosser. At the age of six his adoptive parents brought him to the United States where Patrick received his citizenship in Baltimore, Maryland. Pat moved to Newton at an early age and continued to make Newton his home. He was self employed operating a car detail shop for many years until he began his employment with Bell Helicopter. For the past seven years he had worked with the Dale County School System. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Marcus and Esther Rosser; one uncle, Marcus Hugh Rosser, one aunt, Carolyn Borland Rosser; one great aunt, Virginia (Gitchie) Atkinson.
Survivors include three aunts, Patricia Rosser Johnson of Newton, Mary Virginia Showalter of Dothan, and Arlene Rosser of Newton; a host of cousins; special friends at G. W. Long School, Sue Brown and Janet Wolf; and garage sale friends, Walter and Judy Jones.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607; or to The Settlement, 503 County Road 79, Headland, Alabama 36345.
