Paul Chancy, age 53, of Dothan, passed away following a hard fought battle with cancer on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

Born April 25, 1971 in Moody Hospital in Dothan, Alabama to the late Mary Helen Brannon Widener, Paul loved the outdoors. He was more at home on the gun range or hunting and fishing, giving him ample opportunity to become an expert marksman.

In addition to Paul’s mother, Mary Helen Widener, his wife, Raejean Bowser Chancy, preceded him in death by three weeks.

Paul is survived by his brothers, Philip Michael Chancy and wife, Susie, and John Marcus Chancy and wife, Jessica; his uncle, Tommy Brannon; his aunt, Nancy Turner and husband, Francis; a special niece and several nephews; and his best friend, Nate Frazier.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, June 22, 2024 from the chapel of Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Francis Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 9 AM until 10 AM, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Jacob Chancy, Isayah Chancy, Nathan Chancy, and Nate Frazier.
