Paul Jones, a resident of Dothan, Alabama died Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 61.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2PM, Sunday, September 18, 2022, in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend John Lucas and Reverend James Dean officiating.
Paul was born on July 29, 1961, and was later adopted and raised by his grandparents, whom he lovingly called mama and daddy. He graduated from Dothan High School in 1981. Paul had so many friends and people who loved and knew him. He had the best sense of humor, and he loved more than anything to make people laugh. His grandchildren and great grandchildren adored their Paw Paw because he could always make them giggle and had funny nicknames for them all. The only thing that he was known for more than his sense of humor was his signature fashion choice: denim overalls. Paul had a passion for music. He loved to play the guitar and sing. He and some good friends formed a band called “Little House” several years ago and they enjoyed getting together to play mostly classic rock tunes along with playing some great original songs that they wrote.
Paul loved tending to his plants in his yard, and his most favorite place on Earth was his porch when there was a soft breeze. He would spend hours upon hours watching hummingbird’s drink from their feeders, rocking in his rocking chair, and enjoying nature. Paul was a simple man that enjoyed simple pleasures and always found the funny in everyday life.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Luther and Willie Mae Tice Jones; his mother, Martha Peacock; a stepdaughter, Christy Henderson Bridges; and a son in law, Sammy Bridges.
Left to cherish his memories is his wife, Patricia Ann Norton; a step daughter, Cheri Henderson Wier; two step sons, David Henderson (Katrina,) and Wil Norton; a brother, Mark Peacock; a step sister, Tami Rhodes; nine grandchildren, Shanda Henderson Sanders, Dustin Blair (Stephanie), Victoria Blair Le (Tony), Cody Henderson (Samantha), Devan Baxter (Bekah), Chase Blair, Aiden Walker, Cassie Henderson, and Tristan Walker; six great grandchildren, Caden Blair, Annaleigh Wells, Ava Le, Baila Sanders, Carter Blair, and Matthew Henderson; along with numerous friends.
