Mr. Quinton Vaughan of Tallahassee, Fla. passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014. He was 80. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time at New Hope Baptist Church in Tallahassee on Saturday, August 30, 2014 with Rev. Danny Romans and Rev. Carl Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva, Ala. directing. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Mr. Vaughan was born in Holmes Co., Fla. on April 14, 1934 to the late James Rufus Vaughan and Thelma Edna McDuffie Vaughan. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Mr. Vaughan worked as a residential contractor for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church for fifty-one years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rex Vaughan.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Claudette Scarborough Vaughan; two sons, Stan Vaughan and wife, Renee of Tallahassee, Fla. and Terry Vaughan and wife, Jennifer of Starke, Fla.; two grandchildren, Patrick Vaughan and Joshua Vaughan, both of Tallahassee; sister, Janice Dunn of Albany, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
