Obituary: Randall Lomax Herring
Randall Lomax Herring of Enterprise, Alabama passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015 following an automobile accident. He was 64.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 23, 2015 at New Home Baptist Church with Reverend Cliff Quincey officiating. Burial will follow in the New Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the church Monday beginning at 12:00 and continuing until service time.
Mr. Herring was born August 22, 1950, in Columbus, GA, son of Jeanette Martin Herring and the late Leon Lomax Herring of Enterprise. He grew up in Savannah, GA and was a graduate of Savannah High School. He graduated from the University of Alabama and was a practicing CPA who was a well-respected expert on tax. He was the U.S. author for CCH publications, International Tax Planning – Expatriates & Migrants and International Master Tax Guide. He served as the chairman for the Alabama Young Republicans. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa and attended Grassland Heights Baptist Church in Franklin. He loved John Wayne movies and had a vast collection of westerns. He liked hiking and camping in the mountains and had hiked the Smokies, the Grand Tetons, and the Rockies. He loved baseball and was a volunteer little league coach for years. He was a loving father and very proud of his children.
Survivors include his mother, Jeanette Herring of Enterprise, AL; 11 children: Patrick Allen Herring of Nashville, TN, Angela Denise Herring Lenski (Raymond) of the Netherlands, Brandon Michael Turner of Enterprise, AL, and Christopher James Turner, Kyle Randall Turner, Bradley Daniel Turner, Marissa Marie Turner, Savannah Danielle Turner, Heath Ryan Turner, Vanessa Alexandria Turner, and Shaun Alexander Herring, all of Franklin, TN; 2 sisters: Pamela Cheryl Herring of Prosperity, SC and Debra Herring Kyser (James) of Enterprise, AL; 2 grandchildren: Robert Raymond Lenski and Dennis Thomas Lenski; 2 nephews: Joshua Daniel Joyner and Robert Hampton Bradshaw; 2 nieces: Jennifer Lynn Beard and Laura Michelle Wackenhut.
