Randy Allen Tedder, a resident of Ashford, Alabama died Monday, July 18, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 71.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30PM, Wednesday, July 20, 2022 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Adams officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 1:30PM to 2:30PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his honor to The Michael J Fox Foundation, www.michaeljfox.org.
Allen was born to the late James and Edna Bridges Tedder on March 19, 1951 in Alabama. He was an Executive Director for many organizations throughout his career to include Boy Scouts of America, Alabama Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, American Diabetes Foundation Florida Chapter, The Chuck Colson Justice Fellowship, and The Legal Aid Foundation of the Tallahassee Bar. Later in life, due to his passion for sailing, he owned and operated Small Boat Journey Boat Restoration. His hobbies included reading and cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide in the fall “Roll Tide”. Allen was a member of New Freedom Church in Webb Alabama. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ron Tedder.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years Gayle Joiner Tedder; two sons, Jeff Tedder (Beth), Mike Tedder (Leeann); a daughter, Jill Brinkley; five grandchildren, Samuel Brinkley, Daniel Brinkley, Michael Riley Brinkley, Laney Tedder, and Quinn Tedder; a sister, Barbara Flourney; a brother in-law, Chuck Joiner (Kaye); along with many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to his caregivers Elizabeth Snellgrove, Carolyn Reynolds, and the entire staff at Kindred Hospice for the great love and awesome care during this difficult time.
