ARITON… Mr. Randy (Leh) L. Lehmann (Staff Sergeant, United States Army, Retired), a resident of Ariton, died early Monday morning, January 30, 2023, at his home. He was 77.
Funeral Services will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 11:00AM. Burial will be in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at the church. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans Chapter 94, 221 William Drive Ozark, AL 36360.
Mr. Leh, son of the late Lionell Lehmann and Dorothy Lee Lehmann, was born in Hutchinson, Kansas and raised in Hobbs, New Mexico. Mr. Leh joined the Marine Corps in 1964 and served in the Marines for four years, including the Vietnam War. After the Marines, Mr. Leh joined the U.S. Army and served for sixteen years. He was a Living History Reenactor for the 1814 Tennessee Militia and The French and Indian Wat at Ft. Toulouse/Jackson in Wetumpka. He also traveled the country for various reenacting events. He was also an avid reader.
Mr. Leh was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. He also served as Chief of Police of Ariton, AL for two years. Mr. Leh had a deep laugh as well as a growl at the things he couldn’t abide. His kind words, love and care that would shine through his tough and gruff exterior will be missed by so many.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Lehmann of forty-four years; son, Christopher L. (Tara) Lehmann, Jacksonville, NC; daughter, Gayle-Ann Lehmann, Annapolis, MD; grandchildren; Ian C. Lehmann and Caleb L. Lehmann, both of Jacksonville, NC; brothers, Richard L. (Sydney) Lehmann, Long Beach, MS and Ronald C. (Jane) Lehmann, Crossville, TN.
