Reginal Clinton Roland, a resident of Cowarts, Alabama died Monday, February 11, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 86.
Funeral services will be at 11:30AM Wednesday, February 13, 2019 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Harden and Reverend Donald Irwin officiating. Interment will be immediately following the service in Crestlawn Cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted.
Reginal was born to the late Ed and Vernell Morgan Roland. He was the owner and operator of Roland’s Bait and Tackle for 30 years. Upon his retirement he continued to supply anglers with wigglers and red worms up until his illness. He was a loving husband to the love of his life Mrs. Virginia for 59 years. He loved and cherished the times spent with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mrs. Virginia Mae Harrison Roland; three brothers, Baby Roland, Howard Roland, and Bud Roland; three sisters, Mary Lou Irwin, Doll Register, and Carabe Register; two granddaughters, Courtney and Lacey Roland.
Survivors include two sons, Randy Roland (Deborah) and Ronnie Roland (Whitney); one brother, Bob Roland (Sue); Five grandchildren, Adam Roland (Michelle), Stefanie Gingerich (J.P.) Suzanne Hatcher (Brad), Pamela Hatfield and Shelby Hatfield; six great grandchildren, Caleb Hall (Delores), Christian Roland, Jake Hughes, Dylan Hatcher, Noah Gingerich, and Grayson MaGill;
two great great grandchildren, Ella Rose Hall and Everleigh Raine Hall; several nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Kathy Harden for the loving care and kindness she showed in caring for Reginal. Thanks to the kind hearts of the staff of Kindred hospice.
