Richard John Krause, 61, peacefully passed into eternity October 12, 2016, at South East Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama with his wife and children by his side. He was born December 1, 1954 in Reading, England. He was the son of the late Richard Henry Krause and Pauline Gloria Peglar Krause both of Dothan, Alabama. He has 1 Brother Paul Krause, Sister Helen West, and Sister Mary Krause. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Debra McKenzie Krause, and his 3 loving children. Daughter April Douglas and husband (Steve Douglas), Angela Shelly and husband (Mike Shelly), Richard Krause and wife (Rachael Krause). He also has 8 grandchildren. Richard was raised in Aberdeen, Maryland where he attended Aberdeen High School. He then served in the United Stated Marine Corps, and earned his Sargent strips. He worked as an aircraft mechanic in the Marines where he gained the skills that furthered his career. He then received his Aircraft and Power Plant license, and went to work at Fort Rucker as a tech inspector for 34 years on the AH-64 Apache Helicopter. He had such a deep abiding love for children and for the work that St. Judes Children’s Hospital did in research and finding cures for childhood cancer. He worked diligently making it the primary charity of the Southern Cruiser Riding Club. He served as the 1st officer of the local chapter of the Southern Cruisers; then he was promoted to a national officer and vice president. Not only did he have a love of bikes and children, he had a love for Lord Jesus Christ. He attended church at Ridgecrest Baptist Church for 5 years and First Presbyterian for 25 years. His visitation will be at Ward-Wilson Funeral Home on Friday October 14, 2016 from 5:00pm-7:00pm, and his celebration of life service will be at Ridgecrest Baptist Church of Dothan at 10:00am with burial services at Ward-Wilson Cemetery with full military honors. The family asks that In lieu of flowers that a donation can be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital.
