Ricky was born to Helen Corbitt and the late Robert Garner on August 15, 1958. He was a hardworking very selfless individual who was a mechanic by trade, working many years at Boat Field Automotive in Montgomery, Alabama before his retirement. Ricky was a very hard worker, when he wasn’t working, most times you could find him on his phone playing casino games. He never met a stranger and would go out of his way to help anyone. His greatest joy was spending precious times with his family, especially his grandchildren, they were the apple of his eye. Ricky will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Arlene Smith; a step brother, Bill Murphy; and a step sister, Kathy Murphy.
Left to cherish his memories are a daughter, Candace “Nikki” Wilkerson (Adam); a son, Ricky Garner; his mother, Helen Corbitt; four brothers, Robert Garner (Elaine), Terry Garner, Rusty Garner (Shay), and Ty Garner; a sister, Deborah Kirk; two grandchildren, Nicholas Wilkerson and Jacob Wilkerson; the mother of his children, Laura Cuevas; sisters in law, Mary Miller and Sherry Slocum; along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
