Obituary: Mr. Rickey Dewayne Helms Sr.


 


Mr. Rickey Dewayne Helms Sr. of Hartford passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at his residence. He was 57.


Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, in Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel of Slocomb. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12:00 noon and will continue until service time. 


Rickey was born in Geneva County on August 6, 1955 to the late George H. and Monteal Tucker Helms. He was a proud Veteran of the Army National Guard. 


In addition to his parents, two brothers: Huey and Buddy Helms preceded him in death. 


Survivors include three sons: Rickey Dewayne Helms Jr. (Jackie), Derik Austin Helms (Christy) and George Michael Helms all of Slocomb; three grandchildren: Ethan, Layna and Elizabeth; one brother, Johnny Mack Helms (Barbara) and one sister, Barbara Sanders all of Slocomb; best friend, Marsha Toley and Grant Ball.
