Mr. Robert “Ed” Jackson of Dothan died Saturday, August 18, 2012, at his residence. He was 72.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, August 20, 2012, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Steve Trail officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 P.M. Sunday, August 19, 2012. Flowers will be accepted.
Mr. Jackson was born October 2, 1939, in Houston County, Alabama. He was the co-founder of Jackson Gas and Electric in April 1963. He enjoyed fishing and loved his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter D. Jackson and Kate Brackin Jackson, two sisters, Mary King, Faye Duke, brother, John Jackson, his two wives, Martha June Jackson, Patricia Cole Jackson, and his foster son, Mike Branton.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Jackson and his wife, Karen of Dothan; Kevin Jackson and his wife, Holli of Cottonwood; sisters, Beulah Morgan of Headland; Rose Shelley and her husband, Harold of Dothan; brother, Ben Jackson and his wife, Marion of Cottonwood; grandchildren, Skyler June Jackson, Grady James Jackson, Brackin Justin Jackson, several nieces and nephews, and many special friends.
