Mr. Robert A. Lolley of Opp, Alabama passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012. He was 65.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, in the Glory Tabernacle Church in Opp with the Rev. Dale Puckett and Rev. Randy Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Travelers Rest Cemetery in Samson with Sorrells Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
Mr. Lolley was born August 7, 1946, in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Alton Dennis Lolley and Katherine White Lolley Tenny. He was a member as well as on the board of Glory Tabernacle Church. He loved to minister through gospel music and at one time he was a member of the singing group, The Singing Miracle’s. For many years he owned and operated Lolley Monument Company in Opp. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, a sister, Betty Joyce Dean, and two grandchildren, Megan Thompson and Caleb Piland, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Armerteen Dixon “Tina” Lolley, Opp; one son, Dennis Lolley (Stephanie); three daughters: Tracy Thompson (Curt), Angie Woods (Gene), all of Opp, Kim Johns (Kenny), Andalusia; three brothers: Jackie Lolley (Carolyn), Enterprise, Bobby Lolley (Rhonda), Samson, Lamar Lolley (Lorene), Geneva; ten grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Scott Dean, Mark Dean, Gene Lolley, Doug Hattaway, Daniel Wood and Josh Thompson.
Tyler Thompson will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
