Robert Brian Nomberg, 70, passed away in his home in Panama City Beach, Florida on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 after a long battle with illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, April 7, 2023 at Temple Emanu-El, 188 N Park Avenue, Dothan, AL 36303. Graveside service will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family in the Temple Emanu-El Social Hall from 1:30 until 2:00, prior to the service.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Jimmy Todd, Craig Schmidtke, Joseph Sikora, Will Fleming, Dave Schaler, and Lindy Davis.
Robert was born on January 28, 1953 in Dothan, Alabama to his parents, Bill and Thelma Nomberg. A truly gifted athlete, Robert excelled in all sports he played. He attended Dothan High School, where he graduated in 1971. He also attended college at Emory University and ultimately graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in psychology.
Robert started his career by working for his father’s company, Wex-Tex Industries. He eventually went on to open his own company, RBN Manufacturing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Thelma Nomberg.
He is survived by his siblings, Marc Nomberg of Gulfport, FL; Lisa Todd (Jimmy) of Panama City Beach, FL; and Anna Schmidtke (Craig) of Dothan, AL; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and beloved friends, Dave Schaler and Lindy Davis.
May he always be remembered for his gregarious spirit, magnetic personality, and contagious smile. He will be greatly missed.
