Robert "Buddy" Arnold Plummer, 60, a resident of Dothan, AL, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 at 4:10 pm at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

At his request, no service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society, ATTN: Memorial Chair, 134 Quarrles Court, Ozark, AL 36360.

Buddy was born on July 25 in Jacksonville, FL.  He graduated Paxon Senior High School in 1969. In early adulthood, he started a sheetrock installation company in GA. He later sold the company to become a long time employee at Miller Brewing Co. in Albany, GA.  Buddy was an active member in the IAM.  He retired from MillerCoors in 2009. Although retired, Buddy pursued many activities, such as riding his Harley trike, dates with his beloved wife, pool volleyball with the gang at Westgate Park, and watching sports with his friends at Bullets.  He enjoyed visiting England, as well as the beaches of Florida and the mountains of Tennessee.  Buddy looked forward to Sunday service at Wiregrass Church in Dothan.  He enjoyed hunting with family and friends.  Buddy was a supporter of gun safety training for the next generation.  Buddy attended many stock car races, NASCAR and dirt track.  He liked being a spectator, but loved being a part of the pit crew. Buddy was a life-long Florida Gators and Atlanta Braves fan.  He enjoyed westerns, admired John Wayne, and some of his friends knew him as 'Duke'. He was always quick with a smile.  He could lighten tension with his great sense of humor.  Buddy guided his children with his wisdom and unconditional love.  As a father, he was a calm and steady presence in a chaotic world.  As a husband, he was a best friend to his wife.  As 'Papa', as he was lovingly known, his love and kindness were revered by family and friends.  Buddy never met a stranger, and always left as a friend.

Mr. Plummer is preceded in death by his father, Theodore Edison Plummer, and mother, Evelyn Irene (Blackwell) Plummer, and daddy, Wayne "Pa" Smith, and a brother, Norman, and his wife, Linda, and a grandchild, Mitchell Wade Walker.

Mr. Plummer is survived by his wife, Joyce Plummer, Dothan; two daughters, Dana Kirkland (Chris), Dothan, Anna Prescott (Ray), Folkston, GA; two sons, Michael Sikes (Janine), England, Wade Daughtry (Lowann), Pennsylvania; eleven grandchildren, Matthew Phillips, Jacob Phillips, Caitlin Sikes, Karisa Daughtry, Beth Prescott, Adam Prescott, Noah Prescott, Rayanna Prescott, Austin Peck, Owen Peck, and Nathan Peck; two sisters, Pat "Sissy" Frank (Erhard), Anita "Nikki" Hobbler; and one brother, Charles "Freddie" Plummer.  Mr. Plummer is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, extended family and countless friends.
