ARITON…. Mr. Robert D. “Buddy” Marsh, a resident of Ariton, died early Friday morning, January 29, 2021 in a Dothan hospital. He was 77.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 2, 2021 in the Chapel of Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in Union Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Marsh, son of the late Alonzo Desoto Marsh and Ruth Davis Marsh, was a native of Ozark. He moved to Ariton in 1982 and was formerly employed with Price Bros. Gas Company of Louisville as Office Manager and service technician in the Ozark location. Mr. Marsh was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of Elam Baptist Church in Elamville. Mr. Marsh was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy McTaggert and Sandra Coste; two brothers, Jim Marsh and Ken Marsh.
Surviving relatives include his wife of forty-one years, Patsy Nance Marsh, Ariton; his daughter, Angie Folkes (Chris), Headland; two sons, Robert Christopher Marsh (Wendy), Birmingham and Craig Stafford (Becky), Midland City; two brothers, Pat Marsh, Atlanta, GA and Jerry Marsh, Ozark; five grandchildren, Miranda Marsh, Alex Folkes, Madison Folkes, Anna Lee Marsh, Dakota Stafford; sisters-in-law, Joy Marsh, Coffee Springs, AL and Lila Marsh, Coffeeville, AL; brother-in-law, Johnny Coste, Tallahassee, FL; relatives from the Nance family, Edward Nance (Rena), Ozark, Ricky Nance (Dee), Birmingham, and Rusty Nance (Renae), Ozark; numerous nieces and nephews.
