Robert Glenn Pettie, a resident of Ashford, died Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at his home. He was 76.


 


Funeral services for Mr. Pettie will be held at 3 PM Saturday, April 20, 2019 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Rev. Byron Register officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:45 PM until 2:45 PM prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery with Southern Heritage directing.


 


Mr. Pettie was born March 15, 1943 in Andalusia, Alabama to the late James Wilton and Carrie Lee Brunson Pettie. He was in the cable construction business for many years and later retired as a Foreman from the Houston County Road and Bridge department. Mr. Pettie loved to be outdoors and farming during his retirement years. He was a man with a big heart who always made time for his family and others. Mr. Pettie was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.


 


Mr. Pettie is preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Pamela Delyn Pettie; three brothers, Buddy, Charles and Tommy Pettie.


 


Survivors include his wife, Shirley Pettie; sons, Robert Keith Pettie (Stephanie), Kevin Pettie (Melissa); grandchildren, Tatum Pettie McClendon, Robert Kaleb Pettie, Joshua and Jacob Pettie; great grandson, CJ McClendon; sisters, Lillian Kirkland (Lee), Linda Warthen; brother, JW Pettie; many nieces and nephews also survive.
