Mr. Robert Glenn Traylor, age 78, a resident of Cottonwood, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at his residence after an extended illness.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church in Cottonwood with Reverend John Smith, Reverend Richard Smith, and Reverend Tony Deese officiating. Burial will follow in the Ramah Cemetery in Cottonwood with Kendall Glover directing.


The family will be receiving friends at Calvary Baptist Church on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.  Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 267 Metcalf Street, Cottonwood, AL, 36320.


Mr. Traylor was born in Cottonwood on May 6, 1939 to Perry Lee and Addie Love Traylor.  He retired as a carpenter with the Tom West Company.  Mr. Traylor was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.


Mr. Traylor was preceded in death by his parents, a son Kenny Wayne Traylor; a great grandson Cason Allen McCorkel; three sisters and one brother.


Survivors include his wife of 57 years Addie Deese Traylor, Cottonwood; a daughter Kay (Chip) Fails, Dothan; two grandsons Tyler Traylor and Josh (Emily) Fails of Cottonwood; two granddaughters Ashton Bradshaw of Cottonwood and Stephanie (Jason) McCorkel of Dothan; two great granddaughters Bailynn Burch and Lottie Lewis; two great grandsons, Cayden Lewis and Brantley Bradley; one sister Bobbie Dickerson of Cottonwood; several nieces and nephews; a special niece Carol Powell of Sylvania, GA.


Pallbearers will be: Jason McCorkel, Brandon Powell, Robert Efurd, Todd Deese, Brian Deese and W. J. Deese.
