Obituary: Mr. Robert H. Raxter

 

Mr. Robert H. Raxter of Slocomb passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Flowers Hospital.  He was 67. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, June 15 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Simmons officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until service time. 

Mr. Raxter was born on February 3, 1946 in Virginia to the late Fayette and Flossie Marie Taylor Raxter.  He was a former Deputy Sherriff for Calhoun County and retired as a security guard from Farley Nuclear Plant.  He was currently employed at Raxter’s Auto Shop in Slocomb where he worked alongside his son. 

Survivors include his son, Michael Raxter and his wife Tonya, Slocomb; two sisters: Joyce Rhodes (Jim) and Willene Bryson (Richard) all of North Carolina; three step-grandchildren: Shaelynn, Jacob and Jason Mancill Jr. all of Slocomb; nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
