Robert Steve Anderson, 54, of Cottonwood, Alabama died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 in Clearman Chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend John Smith and Reverend Tony Deese officiating. Burial will follow in Cottonwood City Cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the funeral home.

Born in Houston County, Alabama, Steve was a son of the late Robert Lee and Shirley Jean Bass Anderson. He worked with the Houston County Road and Bridge Department for thirteen years then he began his life’s passion of farming full time. He is a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cottonwood.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Jean Smith Anderson, Cottonwood, Alabama; two sons, Steven Brad (Katlin) Anderson, Cottonwood, Alabama, and Joshua Erin Henderson, Cottonwood, Alabama; two step sons, Scottie (Jennifer) Henderson, Ashford, Alabama, and Rickey (Tammy) Henderson, Dothan, Alabama; three step grandsons, James Ross Henderson, Hunter Henderson and Austin Henderson with a forth grandchild expected in September.; several aunts and uncles.
