OZARK…Mr. Roger Ozene Sanders, Sr., a resident of Ozark, died early Wednesday morning, November 13, 2024, in a Dothan hospital. He was 65.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 18, 2024, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kent Barnes and Pastor Roy Barnes officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.

            Mr. Sanders, son of the late Ozene Sanders and Lucille Braswell Sanders, was a native and lifelong resident of Ozark. In earlier years, he owned and operated Rogers Plumbing & Electric in Ozark. Mr. Sanders enjoyed spending time fishing and family camping trips. He was preceded in death by a son, Joshua Sanders; brothers, Timothy Sanders, Jackie Sanders, Rex Sanders, and Ronald Genn “Bo” Sanders.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Lynn Scott Smith Sanders; son, Roger Ozene Sanders, Jr. (Dana); stepdaughter, Christy Lane (David), all of Ozark; step-son, Joey Smith (Nicole), Rehobeth; sister, Ramona J. Gardner, Ozark; sister-in-law, Debbie Sanders, Midland City; brother, Reggie Sanders, Birmingham; nine grandchildren, Liam Sanders, Johnathan Sanders, Sabrina Sanders, Austin Tyler, Brittany Nicole Lane, David Lane, Jr., Adriana Smith, Eyan Smith, and Jaydon Godwin; greatgrandchild, Adalyn Kate Elrod; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
