Roy “Pop” McAnulty, age 81, went to be with the Lord, November 10th, 2014 after a brief illness.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 13th from 5 to 7 PM at Ward Wilson Funeral Home and services will be Friday, November 14th, at 10 AM at Mount Enon Baptist Church located at 3167 Iris Road, Dothan, Alabama.
Pop is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marie, two sons, Steve (Lisa) McAnulty and Mike (Susan) McAnulty, one daughter, Jan (Brett) Gerber, honorary daughter, Alisa (Greg) Rowland, six grandchildren. Geoffrey McAnulty, Kaitlyn McAnulty, Mason Shirah, Olivia McAnulty, Steadman and Savannah Gerber, one brother, Elmer (Jeanette) McAnulty, one sister, Dora (Edward) Scarborough, one brother-in-law, David (Janice) Sewell, one sister-in-law, Anne Dawsey, several nieces and nephews, and honorary granddaughters, Rebekah Simmons and Anna-Marie Watkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents J.F. and Verna McAnulty.
Pop lived a rich life filled with love and built a firm foundation of faith for his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a devoted Christian with a gentle spirit that touched many lives. He was a member of Mount Enon Baptist Church for 58 years, retired from Sunnyland Packing Company/Showell Farms and Houston County Board of Education. He enjoyed good conversation, woodworking, reading, travel and shopping.
