Mr. Samuel Kenneth Yarbrough of N. Hwy 81, Westville, Florida, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, July 30, 2013.  He was 78.


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 1, in the Hurricane Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Locke officiating. Mr. Yarbrough will be placed into the church one hour prior to service time.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, July 31, from 6 until 8 p.m.


Mr. Yarbrough was born February 1, 1935, in Holmes County, Florida to the late Columbus Phillip and Hettie Irene Royals Yarbrough.  He was inducted into the Alabama Hall of Fame for Fast Pitch Softball.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most importantly he loved the Lord.  He was a lifelong, faithful member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church.


In addition to his parents a brother, Lavelle Yarbrough, preceded him in death.


Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Cumi Gillman Yarbrough; one son, Richard Dale Yarbrough (Tena); one daughter, Vicki Locke (Billy); one brother, Phillip Yarbrough, Jr. (Sylvia), all of Westville; two sisters: Ouida Zorn, Westville, and Mary Goldbach (Victor), Pensacola; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
