OZARK… Mr. Steven Lee Payne, a resident of Ozark, died Saturday morning, August 13, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. He was 72.


            In keeping with the wishes of the family, there are no public services planned at this time. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


            Mr. Payne, son of the late Norman Payne and Barbara Burnette Payne, was a native of Winfield, Kansas. He was formerly employed as a fireman at Winfield, Kansas Fire Department. Mr. Payne enjoyed gardening, reading his bible, fishing, and hunting Elk. He enjoyed painting Southwest Scenery and collecting coins. Mr. Payne was preceded in death by the love of his life, Carole Ann Payne.


            Surviving relatives include his daughters, Laura Lee Payne, Colorado Springs, Colorado and Kimberly Ann Brown, Ozark; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
