Mr. Talmadge L. Tew, Sr. of Dothan, AL went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday night May 31, 2023. He was 93 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Memphis Baptist Church with Reverend Billy Rich officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery with Reverend Jim Tate officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the Church Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Tew was born December 21, 1929 in Dothan, Alabama to the late W.H. Tew and Lochie Tew. He loved farming and raising cattle. Talmadge's faith played a significant role in his life, guiding him through both good times and bad. He was a devoted member of Memphis Baptist Church where he served in various capacities including serving as Deacon and Sunday School Tacher. His faith-filled spirit was evident in the way he lived his life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers James Tew and John Tew, his wife Betty Lou McMillan Tew and daughters Cynthia Myra Tew Quattlebaum and Teresa Lou Tew.
Survivors include his daughter Betty Linda Tew Friman (Tom), son Talmadge Louis Tew, Jr. (Kathy), brothers Carl Randolph Tew (Ardyeth), and Max Tew (Ruthie), sister Maxine Tew, 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion. Especially Kisha and Geraldine Hospice Caregivers.
