Mr. Thomas Rupert Devine, age 82, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday March 9, 2016 at his residence after a brief illness.


Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Memphis Baptist Church with the Reverend’s Jim Tate and Rick Glenn officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing.


The family will be receiving friends from 12 noon to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Memphis Baptist Church.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Conti Work Center, P.O. Box 8646, Dothan, AL. 36304. (Mike’s work Center)


Mr. Devine was born on June 22, 1933 in Birmingham the son of Rupert Ray Devine and Eddie Mae Nations Devine.  He was a graduate of Minor High School and attended Birmingham Southern College.  Mr. Devine was retired in Industrial Sales from Mack Electric following 32 years of service.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran; a member of Memphis Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and taught Sunday School for many years.  Mr. Devine was actively involved in the Dothan Houston County Association for Retarded Children.


He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dollie Cruce.


Survivors include- wife, Donna Woodward Devine, Dothan; 2 sons, Michael Devine and Steve Devine (Krystal), both of Dothan; 2 grandsons, Jon Devine (Candace); Jared Devine (Kalae); 4 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Nellie Joe Holoman, Birmingham.


Active pallbearers will be: Steve Jordan, Keith Jordan, Zack Johnston, David Woodward, Gary Glenn, and Gary Tew.


Honorary pallbearers will be Tom’s Sunday School Class at Memphis Baptist Church.


Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
