Thomas William (Tommy) Davenport, 65, of Dothan went to be with Jesus on Monday, January 4, 2021.
Tommy was born October 26, 1955 in Dothan, AL to William Mancil and Nell McNab Davenport. He grew up in Pinckard, AL, and lived most of his adult life in Dothan. He was a 1974 graduate of Dale County High School. He was a faithful member of Dothan First Assembly of God and served on the board and security team for 25 years. He was employed with Four Star Freightliner for the last 20 years.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents Mancil and Nell Davenport and his mother-in-law Janice Wells.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathy (Wells) Davenport; two daughters, Karmen and Lindsey (Britton) Hughes; two grandchildren, Raygan and Daven Hughes all of Dothan; two sisters, Rhonda (Paul) Littlefield and Debi (Louis) Camp all of Dothan; father-in-law, Irby Wells of Dothan.
Pallbearers will be Dean Stanford, Jimmy McKnight, David Rogers, Christopher Camp, Harry Reeves, Jay Morrison, Mark Murphy, Craig Mathis, Matthew Harrell, and Britton Hughes.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to Dothan First Assembly of God’s Security Ministry Team that Tommy loved and was a part of for over 25 years.
Graveside services will be held at Memory Hill Cemetery, Friday, January 15, 2021 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Murray Kelley and Rev. Mark Benson will be officiating. Visitation will be after the service at graveside.
