Tommy was born April 9, 1937 in Elmore County, Alabama
Tommy's life was defined by devotion—to his family and his faith. He shared an extraordinary journey of 66 years with his loving wife, Dorothy Jean Petrey Peoples, who was his partner in all aspects of life. Together, they raised a family that became Tommy's pride and joy. His legacy lives on through his sons, David, Mike, Mitch, and Paul Peoples, and his daughter, Jana’ Peoples Moore. Tommy was a cherished grandfather to Anna Peoples, Crystal Sorrells (Mike), Ashley Jones (Robert), Eric Moore (Jennifer), and Heather Wood (Taten). He was blessed to see the growth of his family tree with the addition of eight beautiful great-grandchildren, Jessa Strope (Shiloh), Kayden Martin, Brody Walker, Parker Sorrells, Payton Jones, River Sorrells, Penni Sorrells, and Celia Wood. Tommy also leaves behind to cherish his memory his brother, Benjamin Peoples (Helen), his sister, Carolyn Gilland (Darrell), his brother, Wayne Smith (Sandra), brother-in-law Benny Jarrell and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Tommy's passing has left a void in the large, loving church family he was a part of, as well as among the many friends he made throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by his father Charles Peoples (Phoebe), mother Mamie Leora Smith (Dallas) and grandson Kyle DaRan Peoples.
As we remember Tommy, we are comforted by the countless memories he created with each of us.
His influence will continue to be felt by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
